A backyard pool is a rare find on the prairies. With an outdoor swimming season that usually runs from late May or June to early September, only a few dozen listings at a time in Saskatoon, Warman and Martensville include a pool, about 40 at the end of October 2026. Many of those are condo buildings with a shared indoor pool, so we've split them out above: houses with a private pool first, then condos and townhouses with a pool.
A private backyard pool is all yours, but you handle the opening, closing, chemicals, repairs and heating. A condo or apartment building pool is usually indoors and open year-round, and its upkeep is covered by your condo fees. That makes it a popular choice for downsizers and anyone who wants a swim in January. See our condo buyer's guide for what to check in condo documents.
Many buyers who love the idea of a pool find a hot tub is a better fit for Saskatoon's climate, with year-round use and far less upkeep. Ask us about homes with a hot tub, a big deck or a large yard. You might also like walkout basement homes, acreages and luxury homes.
No. With a short outdoor swimming season, only a few dozen listings at a time include a pool, and many of those are condo buildings with a shared indoor pool.
Outdoor pools are usually open from late May or June to early September. A pool heater and a good cover can stretch the season.
Ask for the age and condition of the liner, pump, filter and heater, how the pool has been winterized, any leaks, and whether the fencing meets City of Saskatoon requirements. A pool specialist inspection is worth it.
It depends on the buyer. Some families love it, while others see the upkeep and short season as a drawback, so a pool usually adds less value than it costs to install.
Listings are matched by the pool details in each MLS® listing, as of October 31, 2026, and change daily. Confirm the type of pool at the showing.
