SAGE (Saskatoon Public Schools Academically Gifted Education) is the division's program for gifted learners in Grades 5 to 12. Students learn in congregated classrooms with intellectual peers, at five schools across the city. This guide explains how SAGE works and shows homes for sale near the two high schools that offer it.
SAGE groups gifted students together in their own classrooms, with an enriched, inquiry-based approach. The division says students come together from across the city to attend SAGE at one of five schools: three elementary schools and two collegiates.
Families don't apply directly. School staff may identify a Grade 4 student for elementary SAGE (starting in Grade 5) or a Grade 8 student for secondary SAGE, and the referral goes to the SAGE committee, which then contacts the family. For admission at other grades, the division asks families to email [email protected].
Elementary SAGE runs at three schools. The division places students in the Grade 5 SAGE classroom at the school within their catchment area. Starting in 2025–2026, SAGE is being phased out at Dr. John G. Egnatoff School, though current students there continue until they finish Grade 8. Check the division's SAGE page for the current elementary schools.
